Aiolina is run by a Tuscan American family. Cristina is an American of Italian origin ex-pat who has lived in Tuscany since 1994. Her entire life has been dedicated to the hospitality industry, both in Tuscany and in the United States. She is the person who greets you at your arrival, organizes all you need during your stay, teaches Tuscan cooking at its finest and may be seen playing with her goats more often than not. Her husband, Massimiliano was born and raised in Siena. He is a chef in a high-end deli and catering service in Siena but in his off time, his passions are his artiginal beer and his vegetable garden. Their two daughters help out when needed. The youngest is in charge of the chickens, goats and the olive trees as that is what she is studying (agriculture), their eldest is studying hospitality and restaurant management and helps at the reception as well as in the kitchen. They have been living for the last 18 years in the village of Vagliagli which is where Aiolina is based so they have very strong ties to the community.
